The beryllium copper contact and brass body of the High-Frequency SMA edge lock female connector are both precision machined and gold-plated. It also has a PTFE insulator made to endure high temperatures. An excellent PCB connector option for high-frequency applications is this 50 ohm connector.
The SMA edge lock is comparable to the through hole SMA connector with edge mount profile. The conventional end launch connector typically creates a gap between the legs and PCB that might influence the return loss performance if soldering is not done properly.
